2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed will celebrate the 50th Porsche 911 anniversary
This year, Goodwood Festival of Speed will host the celebrations of the Porsche 911 50th anniversary.
Over the last five decades the 911 has been in the center Porsche success. It is also the most iconic model as it has maintained the lines throughout the years.
The 911 model first appearance was in in September 1963 at the IAA (International Automotive Show) in Frankfurt.
Since then, more than 820k Porsche 911s have been built and Goodwood will host examples of each of its seven generations.
Around the world, Porsche will celebrate the 911’s 50th anniversary with events in the USA, China, Continental Europe and Australia.
The Porsche Museum in Stuttgart will also celebrate the 50 years of the Porsche 911 presenting visitors with a special exhibition featuring the history and the model evolution.
